June 23 and 24, 2010 – June Open Houses
The Georgetown South Project hosted two community open house meetings along
the corridor on Wednesday, June 23rd and Thursday, June 24th 2010.
Attendees were invited to review the project details and current status and
also learn more about the next steps for the project’s design and construction
phase. A series of story boards that outlined each of the project components was
on display and GO Transit staff was on hand to answer questions from the
community.
In addition, Stephen Lipkus, the project’s Executive Director, presented a
project overview followed by a question and answer session.
These two open houses are the first in a series of outreach initiatives with
the community along the Georgetown rail corridor. The GTS Community Relations
team is opening two community offices in the Weston and Strachan neighbourhoods
this summer.
Stay tuned for information on office hours and official openings.
