Nicole Janicky, GO Transit Reporter on 680News

Nicole JanickyNicole joined GO Transit in April 2010 as the agency’s first radio transit reporter. She is also a back-up GO transit reporter for CP24 Breakfast.

A Toronto native, Nicole graduated from the Radio Broadcasting diploma program at Humber College. During this time, she commuted on GO using the Brampton Local/Hwy 27/Hwy 427 bus route for two years.

Her broadcasting experience includes an internship at Newstalk1010 in Toronto, morning show co-host and fill-in news anchor at CKKW in Waterloo, and most recently, traffic reporter and news anchor at 680News. After working in Waterloo and returning to the Toronto market a year later, Nicole noticed a significant jump in the amount of traffic on GTHA highways, leading to her interest in the public transportation industry.

Nicole’s traffic reporting knowledge of the GTHA, and experience as a GO rider, has given her an edge in reporting rush hour GO Transit service. She enjoys informing riders of the most current GO service status and helping commuters decide on the easiest way to get to work, school and home.

In her spare time, Nicole enjoys travelling, spending time with family and friends, and attending concerts and sports events.

You can listen to Nicole’s GO transit reports on 680News, Monday to Friday, during the afternoon commute.
